Bioenergía Andina - BEA

Bioenergía Andina's purpose is to transform urban forest waste into biomass to reduce the risk of fire, produce efficient and sustainable heating methods and products, as well as new trades associated with efficient heat management for low-income families in the city of Bariloche, Patagonia Andina. Through its implementation, we are: - promoting a culture of sustainable, efficient, and accessible heat production by using available forest residue;- ensuring the provision of affordable and quality heat to low-income families with no access to a gas connection, reducing their health risks due to low temperatures and toxic gases inhalation from inefficient stoves; - creating new employment and income opportunities for youth and women with no formal education;reducing the risk of fire in our region by generating sustainable mechanisms for forest waste management.Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), BEA's working program is aligned with objectives 7, 8, 11, 13, and 15.
